March

Hi again! Its been a while due to other academic commitments, so I thought I'd update on what ive done so far this month.


Currently, 3DD are working with a new client, an online casino business. I was asked to produce a 300-500 word report concerning their new product, an app for on the go betting. This was in the form of a blog post, including information such as:

  • What I like about playing poker on my phone or tablet while on the go
  • Why it excites me
  • The benefits of using app
  • Why I like how its available anywhere
  • What it provides me with
I was told to write it as a personal account of the service. Therefore, as I had no current understanding of the product I had to use my existing knowledge of outreach research to provide evidence of what the product entails, and also creative writing in order to show this understanding of the product.

I considered issues such as the brand having trust, reliability and creating excitement to properly convey my belief within the product, which in my opinion within the post shows a true understanding and supportive representation of why a customer should trust the brand too.

I believe after completing the above work that I have gained a different perception on what is required to promote a product using creative writing, and am confident my work will contribute to what should be a succesful relationship between 3DD and their client.

February

Hello again! Back for another update on my Agency Life work! This month we were introduced to creative writing aimed specifically at students, while also sourcing new information through outreach research, enabling us to use a previous technique learnt last month and linking it successfully to having the information readily available to use within this task.

Anna had recently acquired a client that organises year breaks for young students, and gave us the task of writing a guide concerning a destination that would be of interest to them. We were told to write up a Lonely Planet Style guide that, in my case, explained the region of Southern Israel.

As this had to appeal to students, I started by researching activities and accomodation that would appeal to their price range and interests. This included activities such as jeep tours, clubbing and various restaurants and bars, as well as unique accomodation. As south Israel isn't as populated or as well covered as areas like Tel Aviv, it proved hard to find information concerning this region, but thankfully the work I did last month helped me to understand how to properly research using keywords and researching in specifics.

I eventually produced a 600 word guide that I believed linked directly to student needs and gave a good insight into what South Israel had to offer. This task again helped me furthur as shown in my next task.

Assignment 2: 22/02/2013
Again, Anna had asked us to help her collaborate with a new client, who were developing a new app which enables their users to order their drinks before being in the club they are heading for, or without entering the cue. To advertise this the app would have to be advertised on a club's facebook page.

We were asked to review some of Manchesters club's Facebook pages, and establish whether they needed to be more attractive on the eye so the app would be visible.

A good eye for detail was needed for this, as a lot of clubs Facebook pages are similar. The page also needed to be easy to navigate round and have the appropriate information available to market the club properly, some clubs did this well with videos demonstrating what a specific night was like and information regarding every night on offer, while others were not so easy on the eye and provided basic information like drink offers and music info. We needed to be critical to ensure we considered everything that would be needed to succesfully market a club, from an eyecatching theme to specific information like special events.

Hi! In the previous post I talked about evaluating legal company information to enable 3DD to source new clients that they could help to improve. This month we went furthur into this task, by providing them with contact info for applicable employees within the business's we had evaluated.

After completing the evaluation of possible clientel last month for Anna and Alex, our employers, we were set the task of going into more detail by means of using outreach research to find specific staff email addresses for some of the legal companies we had found. This would allow Anna and Alex to contact the correct people within the companies so they could properly communicate with them to offer their services.

We were given 102 Lawyer or Wed Design agencies, and then had to find an average of 3 email addresses for each company. The email addresses needed were typically either for Operations Directors, Marketing Directors or PR Managers, all of which could properly understand what 3DD would have to offer if they were contacted by them.

Considering I had a total of 51 email addresses to find it became a timely process, as not all email addresses were easy to find. Only a few of the companies websites had the email address, staff position and name of the member of staff. Often some information was provided within the companies website, such as the member of staff's name and position in the company, while their email address was harder to find. Often names were found on Linked In, while emails were found either on the website or after searching for the name of an employee on Google.

This proved to be a long process, but gave Anna and Alex enough information and options to choose from when looking for new clientel to collaborate with.

When this was completed Anna again set us a task which involved doing research, which enabled us to use our improved techniques provided by the last assignment. This saved us time and effort considering I had learnt how to properly find the resources required.

This piece of work required us to provide Anna with a marketing plan, so she could look into new ways of advertising 3DD's services, helping to gain a bigger market base. We were asked to explain new methods of marketing within sector related networking and conferences.


January Assignment 2: 25/01/2013- 3DD Marketing Plan
First of all we had to find conferences and networking event that were likely to interest companies that 3DD could work with, and also provide other areas that would prove popular for legal companies. Considering the popularity of various internet sources within law firms/professionals, we chose to market through Twitter/LinkedIn, direct mail and trade press, gaining a large exposure to interest a high number of possible clients.

We also provided 13 different conferences/networking events so Anna could speak out or advertise directly to possible clients enabling her to properly explain what is was that 3DD offered.

These two tasks that were set enabled us to explain to Anna and Alex exactly what they needed to do to build a bigger clientel base, which in turn would improve their reputation and ROI.
